Chevrolet Blazer SS EV Will Be On the Streets in a Year

The Chevrolet Blazer SS is the brand’s first pure electric high-performance vehicle.

The carmaker has provided a glimpse of the Chevrolet Blazer SS (“Super Sport”) and announced its availability in spring 2023. This model will be not just one of Chevy’s all-electric lineup that includes the Silverado EV and the upcoming Equinox EV, but a hot version with high-performance features.

The “SS” nameplate, we remind, is used for vehicles with a signature performance option package. The first car to come with the SS package was the 1961 Chevrolet Impala. Other models to bear the SS badge were the Camaro, Nova, Chevelle, El Camino, Monte Carlo, and the Chevy Pickup Truck. Today the manufacturer of the SS models is the GM Performance Division.

Almost nothing is known now about the Blazer SS, although its debut will take place this year. Next spring, we should see the first cars on the roads. Probably, the manufacturer will unveil more and more details as the debut date approaches.

Chevrolet’s latest teaser shows a little: a wheel, a charging door, a red color option. To get a general idea of what the new Blazer SS EV might look like, take a look at the non-electric 2023 Chevrolet Blazer.
