Chery, Chinese state-owned automotive company, returns to the U.S. car market after two decades with a new Vantas SUV.
The new SUV for America is a reworked variant of the Exeed TX, which was unveiled at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The Exeed, we remind, is Chery’s premium brand. The Vantas aims at Genesis, Polestar and other luxury SUVs already present on the market.
The TX is a compact crossover bearing Chery’s platform. This architecture is able to accommodate hybrid, plug-in-hybrid and battery-electric powertrains.
After the launch of the Exeed TX onto the European market, Chery intends to sell its American counterpart Vantas in the United States, Car and Driver informs. When exactly it happens, we still don’t know. Maybe, next year.
Chery has revealed no details yet, except for the information it plans to make the Vantas cars in the USA and chooses Hale and Associates from California as the official importer.
