Carparazzi have spied the 2019 MINI JCW Clubman during road tests. The facelift prototype has minimal cosmetic exterior modifications and a new exhaust system.
Changes have affected the design of taillight: stripes inside replaced the circles. The radiator grille at the front seems to get a new mesh. Other LED adaptive projectors are also among fresh styling features.
It is still a question which interior changes will be. As the company is moving towards digital technologies, we may expect all-digital instrument panel configuration.
The 2019 MINI John Copper Works Clubman will have to compete with faster and cheaper rivals. For instance, with the BMW X2 M35i just arrived.
The latter has the same 2.0-liter turbocharged engine as the JCW, but more powerful: it develops 306 hp. The MINI’s motor produces 231 hp.
The full-drive All4 version currently accelerates to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6 seconds, while the hot BMW X2 need just 4.9 seconds to do the same. Even the electric Hyundai Kona outputs 200 hp.
So, MINI should think of bettering the performance, taking into account the JCW Clubman is an expensive offer in terms of price-quality ratio.
Current prices for the model start from $24,800 (for the base Mini Cooper Clubman) to $35,900 (for the John Cooper Works All4).
