General Motor’s best-seller has got a new base engine.
The Cadillac XT5 crossover has undergone a slight restyling. The main innovation is an entry-level 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. It develops 237 hp (258 lb-ft of torque) and is combined with a 9-speed automatic gearbox and standard front-wheel drive. AWD is available as an option.
For more expensive configurations a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter 6-cylinder 310 hp motor is offered.
Since the beginning of the year, more than 26,000 people have become its owners, according to CarSalesBase.com.
The updated 2020 crossover will go on sale at the end of next month. Prices are not announced yet. The current version costs from $41,695 in the USA.
