Cadillac intends to expand its SUV lineup by adding one more model to the Escalade, XT5 and XT4. It’s about a new Cadillac XT6 full-size three-row crossover, which is expected early next year.
The company will present it in January at the Detroit Motor Show. The XT6 will be positioned between the XT5 and Escalade in the range.
The new SUV’s design is similar to that of the XT5. It will get a a 3.6-liter 310-hp 6-cylinder engine paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. A 400-hp turbo motor may join too.
The Cadillac XT6 will receive modern equipment, including Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system and the latest Cue multimedia with a 10-inch touchscreen and a digital rear-view mirror.
The XT6 debut is part of the carmaker’s plan to launch a new or an updated model every six months till 2021. The next to enter the market will be either new Escalade or all-new vehicles like an electric car or a sports car. Cadillac has not officially confirmed this information yet.
