BMW has prepared some bright premieres for the upcoming international Los Angeles Auto Show (California, USA). They are the BMW X7, BMW 8-Series Convertible, BMW M340i xDrive Sedan and the BMW Vision iNEXT.
Among the models which debut in Los Angeles there are three new production ones and one vision vehicle.
The BMW X7 and BMW 8 Series Convertible represent the company’s next step in the luxury segment.
The X7 is the newest and largest member of the BMW X family. It opens up a new dimension of luxury.
The SUV’s motor range includes two petrols – V8 (unavailable in Europe) and a six-cylinder in-line motor, as well as two six-cylinder in-line diesels. All units are combined with an eight speed Steptronic transmission and a brand’s xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system.
The BMW 8-Series Convertible is a luxury open-top four-seater which provides dynamism, luxury, pure open-air pleasure. Its power lineup will include a choice of a petrol V8 or six-cylinder in-line diesel engines, and the same drivetrain as in the X7.
The BMW Vision iNext with its future-focused design is a marker of a new era in driving. It is the first vehicle in which automated driving, connectivity, electrification and services are fully integrated. So, the model will demonstrate to the public the possibilities autonomous mobility offers.
Therefore, the Vision iNext-based production model will be the BMW’s new technological flagship. First cars will roll off the assembly line at the Dingolfing plant in 2021.
The BMW M340i xDrive Sedan sets new sporting standards in the premium mid-size segment. This potent newcomer features a newly developed six-cylinder in-line engine with maximum output of 374 hp and peak torque of 500 Nm (369 lbft).
The M Sport exhaust system combines with the already familiar eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission, M-specific chassis technology and intelligent all-wheel drive with set-ups for outstanding performance. The BMW M340i xDrive Sedan accelerates to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.4 seconds.
Moreover, BMW will introduce other models at 2018 LA Auto Show, such as the new X5, 8-Series Coupe, Z4.
