BMW X7 Pickup Concept is being presented at the 2019 BMW Motorrad Days.
This unique 5-seat luxury pickup is based on the BMW X7 SUV and uses the 340-hp X7 xDrive40i drive technology.
Visitors of the BMW Motorrad Days, an event for motorcycle enthusiasts taking place these days in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Germany), can see the 2020 BMW X7 Pickup Concept.
12 BMW Group vocational trainees created it in just 10 months at the Munich plant of the brand.
Well, they turned a concept into a fully functional, road-legal vehicle, but BMW does not plan to put it into series production. This is just a show car.
Special projects like this serve for trainees to convey and deploy the required capabilities in practice during training.
The loading area with variable length (from 1,400 to 2,000 mm) behind 5 passenger seats is handmade of fine-polished wood. The cladding and parapet elements are made of teakwood of honey color and in combination with BMW’s Tanzanite Blue metallic finish (inspired by yachting sports) create a refined look.
The X7 pickup truck serves for hosting a BMW F 850 GS motorcycle. The vehicle features a height-adjustable 2-level air suspension and many upscale equipment details making it a good choice for every-day uses.
Moreover, developers reduced the pickup’s weight by 200 kg compared with the production model, albeit it is 100 mm longer.
