BMW presents a hot version of its small X2 crossover, equipped with the brand’s most powerful turbo V4 motor with 302 hp of output, 2.0 liters of volume and 450 Nm of torque. It is about the 2019 BMW X2 M35i. Its production starts in November, pricing will begin from $45,000.
This engine was upgraded for more boost, efficiency and output. In the BMW 3-Series or X3 such a motor produces 248 hp (350 Nm). The X2 M35i’s engine is combined with an 8-speed automatic gearbox with launch control and a standard xDrive all-wheel drive system.
The vehicle first received a Torsen-based limited-slip M Sport Differential on the front axle. It also has additional cooling for transmission and performance tuning for gear ratios, as well as a specially tuned standard M Sport Suspension to lower clearance by 10,2 mm.
Besides, the M35i got M-tuned steering and brakes, a unique front bumper with bigger intake openings. The crossover is claimed to accelerate to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.9 seconds.
The M sport package available on the model features special M elements such as a roof-mounted rear spoiler, dual exhaust pipes, 19-inch alloy wheels (plus optional 20-inch ones), sports seats and a steering wheel, exterior and trim colors and upholstery.
The 2019 BMW X2 M35i will be put into production for the North American market in November 2018. Prices are still unknown, but compared to the standard model they may be above $45,000.
