The next-generation BMW 2 Series Coupe, which is the closest rival of a two-seater Porsche Cayman, will arrive in late 2021.
The car will keep its current layout. We mean a rear-wheel-drive platform shared with the 3- and 4 Series and a choice of 3.0-liter inline-six and 2.0-liter four-cylinder engines. The 2 Series is coming as a 2022 model.
Its lineup will include the M240i and M2 modifications, but no convertible. A convertible version with a fabric top will be alternatively offered for the new-gen 4 Series.
All-wheel drive will remain optional for the new BMW 2 Series, and probably a manual gearbox, at least for the M2.
As for prices, they should not be too far from the current model’s: from $35,300 in the USA, from €31,250 in Germany, from £25,765 in the UK.
