BMW will expand the range of 8-Series models. A convertible, a Grand Coupe and M-versions will follow the 8-Series Coupe recently released.
It was announced by BMW’s CEO Harald Krüger during the conference to discuss the company’s financial performance in the 1st half of 2018.
He claimed that BMW would gradually widen its luxury segment. On November this year the coupe goes on sale. Later the convertible and four-door Gran Coupe bodystyles will be launched, as well as the M-series cars.
Thus, if to take into account the already shown M850i and 840d specifications, we can expect at least 9 versions of the 8-Series. The company will present them till the end of 2019. New variants of motors are possible too.
The BMW 8-Series will fully replace the outgoing 6-Series models as a top coupe in the BMW range.
Mr. Krüger also confirmed that the iNEXT electric concept will go into production in the second half of 2018, and the new Z4 – until the end of 2019.
