The design of a serial BMW X7 has been fully unveiled in patent images. The large SUV will be much larger than the X5 on the same platform, will get narrower headlamps and tail lights in the style of the ‘seventh’ flagship BMW.
The X7 is built on CLAR architecture, which is the basis for the 3- and 7-Series, as well as the new-generation X3.
The length of the crossover is 5,100 mm, the width is 2,020 mm, and the height is 1,800 mm. Thus, the BMW X7 is 178 mm longer, 16 wider and 55 higher than the X5. The wheelbase also differs: 3,010 mm against 2,975 mm.
CLAR is compatible with conventional ICEs, as well as hybrid and all-electric powertrains So, the motor gamma will be quite wide. It will include: 3.0-liter diesel engines of different power, petrol turbo motors, among which there is a 4.4 V8 with 462 hp, and a hybrid power unit from the BMW 740e iPerformance.
The engines will be mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel xDrive.
