BMW i3 Production it USA Ends Next Month: Adieu, i3!

By a BMW dealer bulletin, the BMW i3 electric hatchback production is scheduled to finalize in July 2021.

BMW switched to the iX electric cars instead. Over the last year, the i3 inventory for the United States was at its lowest point. A number of customers even could not secure a production slot. Dealers say around 180 production slots remain. In the first quarter of 2021, only 340 BMW i3s were sold in the country.

In Europe, however, the model is still popular in some markets. When BMW launched the i3 and i8 in 2013, they were considered the most advanced in the automotive world due to the usage of carbon fiber construction and a new dedicated EV platform.

In terms of sustainability, the series production process they were innovative, and even became award winners several times. Sadly, it is now in the past.

The 2021 BMW i3 costs between $44,450-51,500 in the U.S. Its Pros include sporty handling (though it is lackluster at highway speeds), a spacious cargo hold, an upscale cabin, prompt acceleration. Its Cons are tight rear seating, few safety features and so-so driving range compared to rivals.
