The 8 Series family of BMW will get one more model this summer – the Gran Coupe. Almost a production four-door version of the revived eight has been accidentally photographed during road tests on city streets.
The new spy shots show the camouflaged BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe, but it is clear there will be no surprises, BMWBlog informs. The same design language is used as in the 8 Series coupe.
The main difference between the Gran Coupe and the Coupe is actually two additional doors and, as a result, a longer body. Sporting wheels, M Sport Brakes and matte aluminum side mirror bodies prove that we see a hot variant of the BMW M850i.
The performance Gran Coupe got a 4,4-liter V8 twin-turbo engine with 530-hp output. The two-door regular coupe with such a motor accelerates to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.7 seconds. The Gran Coupe is heavier, so it will probably need more time to speed up.
In Germany, the BMW 8er Coupé costs from €100,000, the BMW 8er Cabriolet – from €108,000. The hot BMW M850i xDrive Coupé’s price will be from €125,700, the BMW M850i xDrive Cabrio’s – from €133,700.
The BMW 8 Series will enter the US car market, but the prices have not been announced yet.
