Best Hyundai Models of All Time

Here is our pick of the best Hyundai models ever made.

Hyundai Motors has been on the automotive scene since 1967. It is one of the most progressive car manufacturers making stylish, comfortable, good-quality vehicles. A general stance that something made in Japan cannot be of poor quality is well applicable to Hyundai, especially in recent years.

We’ve included in our List of the Bests such models as the Tucson, Santa Fe, Ioniq 5, Genesis Coupe, Veloster, and Elantra, although the list could be longer.

Hyundai Tucson

Like its sibling Kia Sportage, the Hyundai Tucson compact SUV is not outstanding but solid. Since its debut in 2004, the model has been consistently in strong demand. Besides, we have to thank the Tucson for a hydrogen-powered fuel cell drivetrain – the first-ever on a widely-produced vehicle. The FCEV version was introduced in 2005.

The Tucson is highly ranked for safety and reliability. Its good fuel economy, ride comfort, poised handling, and interior refinement put the SUV among the bests in its class. It is an excellent choice for family buyers as well.

Hyundai Santa Fe

Hyundai put the Santa Fe into production in 2000 on the wave of growing demand for not expensive and efficient crossovers/SUVs. Since then the vehicle has become one of the major players contributing to the development of the highly popular SUV segment.

By today, there are already 4 generations, A long-wheelbase Santa Fe is sold as the Grand Santa Fe in some markets, and it is replaced by the Hyundai Palisade in North America.

The Santa Fe is a globally marketed, well-advertised, evolutionary model whose key features are safety, reliability, and affordability.

Hyundai Veloster

This is the most unique car of the brand, but unfortunately vastly underrated. The 3-door sports coupe with a hatchback-coupé style and an unmistakable rear end is proof of Hyundai’s potency to make good, fun-to-drive sporty cars.

The model replaced the void left by the Tiburon but unlike the latter, the Veloster boasts an incomparable design and awesome variants, such as the Turbo R-Spec or Turbo Rally.

The Veloster N version features thrilling driving dynamics, track-ready handling, 275-hp from its turbocharged engine, and a choice of two excellent transmissions, one of which is manual (a rarity for modern sporty hatchbacks).

Hyundai Elantra

This model just has to be on our list: a flagship compact sedan, Hyundai’s true success, a best-seller, and a great value in the class with lively engines, user-friendly features, and a comfy interior. With each new iteration, the carmaker keeps improving the Elantra‘s design. This is the car that you will never regret buying.

Hyundai Genesis

This car made in 2008-2016 is a milestone in Hyundai’s history and an embodiment of “everyday premium” offering a high level of class at average cost. Since 2017, the Hyundai Genesis model has been sold under the Genesis G80 name.

The Hyundai Genesis premium sports sedan appeared first, then it was followed by a coupe version (Hyundai’s first-ever rear-wheel-drive coupe), which consistently got into the best car rankings.

Genesis separated into a standalone brand in 2015, but it was the Hyundai Genesis car that made Genesis reputable. The history of the luxury brand began from that model, as a matter of fact.

Hyundai Ioniq 5

This all-new, battery-electric compact crossover SUV has been produced by Hyundai since 2021, It is the first product under the Ioniq sub-brand and the first vehicle on the Hyundai Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP).

Both automotive experts and consumers have accepted the model well. This is a decent representative of the modern EV segment.
