The small Audi Q2 crossover, which debuted in Geneva 2 years ago, will get a sportier version – the SQ2 with 300 hp of output. It will be presented to general public very soon, at the Paris Motor Show.
The powertrain includes a 2.0-liter turbo inline V4 producing up to 300 hp (296 bhp) and 400 Nm of torque. It is mated with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and all-wheel drive.
For comparison: the most powerful Q2 has max 187 hp. The SQ2 accelerates to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.8 seconds and speed up to top 250 km/h.
The suspension is lowered by 20 mm. There are new intake and exhaust camshafts. The brakes have been upgraded to 340 mm (front) and 310 mm (rear).
When necessary, the AWD system sends 100% of torque to rear wheels. The 18-inch and 19-inch wheels will be available.
Deliveries in Europe will start early next year. No Audi Q2, SQ2 or RS Q2 (which arrival is possible, with a 400-hp 2.5-liter 5-cylinder motor) will be sold in North America. The smallest Audi crossover in the USA remains the Q3.
