According to Audi’s French office CEO, the Audi e-tron has becoming very popular since its debut. More than 10,000 pre-orders have been already received all over the world.
It is a very good result considering that the EV presentation was held just 10 days ago (in September 17) at the launch event in San Francisco. The production started in Belgium from September 3.
The first customers in Europe can get their cars before the end of 2018. Sales in North America will begin in the second quarter of 2019.
Earlier Audi claimed that they wouldn’t do stockpiles and release the car only for specific customers after making payment in advance.
The Audi e-tron SUV is one of the biggest reveals in the German premium brand history. This all-electric vehicle has two electrics engines (435 hp or 320 kW combined output in ‘boost mode’) and a 95 kWh battery pack.
The model supports DC fast-charging up to 150 kW, so it can go to 80% capacity in about half an hour. This makes it the first car to charge faster than a Tesla.
The Audi e-tron’s starting price is €80,000 in Europe and $74,800 in the USA. The car’s sporty S series variant is expected next year. Then, in 2020, GT and compact versions will likely join the model lineup.
