The 2020 Audi Q3 Sportback has joined the Q3 lineup to beat the BMW X2.
A new turbo-4 engine with a 48-volt hybrid system will be available for it.
Compared with the regular Audi Q3, the Sportback version is a bit lower and narrower, but more stylish. It has a coupe-like roofline, a more raked rear hatch, contrasting body cladding, sportier bumpers and side skirts.
The luggage compartment is the same as the standard Q3’s, but it is smaller, when the rear seats are folded. In general, the Audi Q3 Sportback resembles the Q3 inside, excluding its rear space.
Like in the Q3, the Sportback’s engine lineup includes gasoline and diesel TFSI and TDI units. Quattro all-wheel drive, S tronic or manual transmission will be offered depending on a configuration.
Additional will be a 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline motor with a 48 V mild-hybrid system. This system recovers energy during deceleration and supports the engine during acceleration from low speeds, saving fuel.
The 2020 Audi Q3 Sportback has been announced for sale in Europe. Next year, it may reach the North American market. The regular 2020 Q3 costs from €38,600 in Germany ($35,695 in the USA), the Sportback will be a few thousand pricier.
