Aston Martin Introduces Its Most Powerful Convertible For the 110th Anniversary

The Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate Volante is the most powerful DBS in the company’s 110-year history. At the beginning of the year, the DBS 770 Ultimate Coupe debuted, and now we can see a drop-top version traditionally named “Volante”.

Like the coupe, the DBS 770 Ultimate Volante convertible has received a number of improvements in transmission, steering, suspension, and underbody structure.

Aggressive Smile

The DBS 770 Ultimate Volante greets you with a racing nose. The famous horseshoe hood and snarling front splitter set the mood. Lowered side sills are made of carbon fiber, and the rear diffuser is the finishing touch in the portrait of power.

The car’s best feature is a folding roof. Fitted to every Volante, the roof’s canopy is reinforced with eight layers of insulation to ensure comfort while driving. Designers could create the car’s elegant profile and maximize the trunk’s space due to the compactness of the roof when it is folded and placed in the trunk. It needs just 14 seconds to open and 16 seconds to close.

The design of the DBS 770 Ultimate Volante wheel rims is reminiscent of the 21-inch crown-shaped cutouts found on the exclusive Aston Martin Valkyrie and Victor. The slots on the hood are not decorative: they actually improve the thermal regulation of the engine.

There is no doubt about the high quality of interior materials. Excellent lateral support is provided by the trio of leather, carbon fiber, and Alcantara. Armrests are decorated with a buckle badge with the ‘DBS 770 Ultimate Volante inscription.

There is a unique plaque on the door sill, carved with Aston Martin wings and a limited series number. Only 199 convertibles will be produced (and 300 coupes), and almost every detail in the interior signifies this.

More Speed, Less Weight

The DBS 770 Ultimate Volante’s twin-turbo 5.2-liter V12 produces 770 hp and 664 lb-ft (900 Nm). This allows the car to accelerate to 62 mph in 3.6 seconds and gain 211 mph.

Developers promise outstanding speed, a sound symphony of the mighty V12, and a fairly high level of comfort, in particular thanks to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission that smoothly switches gears.

The body rigidity is increased by 25% to improve handling. The increased diameter of the anti-roll bar and the strengthened engine strut, plus the perfect balance of weight will provide the driver with an unparalleled feeling behind the wheel.

Carbon-ceramic brakes, which heat up to the melting temperature of steel (800℃), will help cool the ardor and stop in time. They come standard for this non-standard model.
