The 2021 Kia Optima has been presented by a YouTube channel.
The Kia Optima changes generations. A car of the 2021 model year demonstrates its interior and exterior during a test drive in a video from the Asian Petrolhead. Thanks to this YouTuber, we can get the first glimpse on the production-ready sedan.
The most interesting detail is a solar roof already met on the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid. So, this time we deal with a hybrid Kia Optima (named K5 in South Korea) featuring a system to charge the battery pack for additional distance of near 808 miles (1,300 km) per year.
The new vehicle is 50 mm longer, 25 mm wider and 20 mm lower than the outgoing model.
Asian Petrolhead shares automotive news and videos which concern South Korean manufacturers and brands like Hyundai, Kia, Genesis, Ssangyong, Samsung.
Apart from the domestic market, the all-new Kia Optima will go on sale in North America, where it is quite popular. In the USA, the car will be available with two gasoline turbocharged engines: a base 1.6-liter 4-cylinder unit with 178 hp (132 kW) and 195 lb-ft (265 Nm) of torque and a 2.5-liter 286-hp (213 kW) /311 lb-ft (422 Nm).
Kia does not plan to deliver the 2021 Optima to Europe. At least, so far
