The automaker confirmed but not detailed the presence of the newest Skyactiv-X engine in the 3’s powertrain.
In any case, updated versions of the Skyactiv-G and Skyactiv-D families of various displacement will become available for the Mazda 3. Transmission options are six-speed manual or automatic.
Mazda included the Cruising & Traffic Support system in the Mazda 3’s package to assist when driving in traffic jams. In effect, this is an entry level autopilot.
The new Mazda 3 goes on sale early 2019, initially to the North American market, then to the rest markets.
