It looks sportier than the related QX50 (inspired by a muscular FX SUV!), but inherits the mechanical parts and interior design of the latter.
The 2022 Infiniti QX55 should arrive at North American dealerships of the brand in spring 2021. Expect the prices ranging from around $43,000 to over $50,000.
Infiniti’s variable-compression 268-hp turbo-four powers the QX55 and, unlike the QX50, it comes standard with all-wheel drive.
The new car’s highlights include an intuitive Infiniti InTouch system with a 9-inch upper and 7-inch lower screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity – base now; an onboard Wi-Fi network for up to 7 mobile devices, a Bose Performance Series audio system with 16 speakers; advanced active noise cancellation tech, and the standard ProPILOT Assist.
Compared to the Infiniti QX50, the coupe-like QX55 has a bigger front grille with an origami-inspired mesh inlay, a unique lower front bumper. Piano-key lighting elements of the taillights resemble the QX60 crossover’s.
The QX55’s cargo area is 26.9 ft3 vs 31.4 ft3 in the QX50. 20-inch wheels come standard.
Inside the developers of the QX55 use bolder color combinations than those in the QX50. Depending on the trim level, Infiniti offers faux, genuine and semi-aniline leather for the upholstery; black open-pore wood trim accents, dark aluminum trim.
