Honda launches the 2022 Civic Hatchback in the USA. Pricing has been announced and starts at $23,915. This amount doesn’t seem too high.
The Honda Civic Hatchback is the second in a series of the all-new, eleventh generation Civic and the first built in the United States. Honda produces the model at its plant in Greensburg, Indiana. In addition to sedan and hatchback, performance variants – Si and Type R – will be also available to the new-gen model.
The pricing including a $1,015 Destination Charge starts at $23,915 and reaches $30,415. The hatchback version represents over one-fourth of all Civic sales.
For the 2022 Civic Hatchback, the automaker offers LX, Sport, EX-L, Sport Turing trim levels, a short-throw 6-speed manual transmission for Sport and Sport Turing, and a continuously variable automatic transmission for all trims.
Engine choices include two four-cylinder units: a naturally-aspirated 2.0-liter 158-hp engine or a refined 1.5-liter turbocharged one that produces 180 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque.
The car features new standard safety technologies and a new sporty, more versatile interior with the largest-ever back seat in the Civic. Cargo space is 24.5 cubic feet. The Civic’s EPA-rated fuel economy is on average 32 miles per gallon combined.
The base equipment includes an easy-to-use 7-inch color touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, LED headlights, push-button start, partial digital instrumentation, a 60/40 split fold-down rear seat.
As we recently reported, the Acura Integra returns to the USA. Let us recall that at the end of the 80s, this model became a more premium and sport-oriented alternative to the Honda Civic.
