All-New CUPRA Tavascan EV Is Unveiled

The electric SUV-coupe has a range of 342 miles (550 km) and advanced technologies

The new electric car – CUPRA Tavascan has been introduced to the motoring community. The brand will produce its first pure electric SUV in China, at the Volkswagen Group plant located in the city of Anhui. However, the Tavascan, as highlighted by the Spanish Motor.es, was designed and developed in Spain.

The new product uses the new design language CUPRA. The manufacturer emphasizes that the front of the car is designed not only for innovative styling but also to ensure maximum performance through improved aerodynamics. Optical groups present a new light signature made of several triangles.

In the cabin, there is a 15-inch touchscreen – the largest one in CUPRA models. The list of driver assistance systems is extensive and includes adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, Lane Keep Assist, lane departure warning, driver fatigue detector, blind spot monitoring, park assist, and remote parking system.

Engines

Buyers will have a choice between the Tavascan Endurance and Tavascan VZ versions. The Endurance is equipped with an engine making 210 kW (286 hp) and a peak torque of 402 lb-ft (545 Nm), and a rear-wheel drive system.

A Higher-level CUPRA Tavascan VZ comes with two engines, one per axle. The front engine develops 80 kW (109 hp) and 99 lb-ft (134 Nm) of torque. The rear engine produces 210 kW (286 hp) and 402 lb-ft (545 Nm), respectively. The total output of the all-wheel drive Tavascan VZ is 250 kW (340 hp).

Range

The driving range of the new CUPRA Tavascan is provided by a 77-kWh lithium-ion battery. The Tavascan Endurance covers 342 miles (550 km) on a single charge, and the Tavascan VZ’s range is 323 miles (520 km).

The new electric car should enter the European market next year.
