All-Electric Chevrolet Silverado Debuts on January 5

The all-electric Chevrolet Silverado will make its global debut at CES 2022 on January 5, 2022.

The 2022 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) will be the place to unveil the all-electric Chevrolet Silverado EV during the opening keynote of General Motors Chair and Chief Execute Officer Mary Barra. It will happen early next year – on Wednesday, January 5.

Chevrolet designed its electric pickup from the ground. The vehicle sits on the new Ultium Platform. Moreover, the automaker says the EV variant keeps the Silverado’s prominent capability and will be able to cover more than 400 miles on a single charge.

An array of useful features will be available both for retail and fleet Silverado models, particularly, a Four-Wheel Steer feature of the chassis that enables steering all wheels.

One more interesting detail for the electric Chevy Silverado is a fixed-glass roof. General Motors applies it to a full-size pickup for the first time. The manufacturer will offer such a roof for retail models. The fixed-glass roof expands visibility, increases headroom, and enhances spaciousness for all passengers.

Chevrolet teases this roof in a glimpse in a short video on the brand’s website.

We’d like to add that the Chevrolet Silverado is the brand’s immutable best-seller in America. The pickup is far ahead of all other models of the brand in sales. For example, there were 123,067 sales in the third quarter of 2021 in the USA. Only the Ford F-Series boasts better sales in the U.S. market: 172,799 units in the same period. The third is the RAM Pickup with 121,704 sales. The rest vehicles are far behind.

Electric vehicles are still unpopular at those shores, but the Silverado EV has a good chance of being liked by customers there, we suppose.
