The 2022 Audi A3 has gone on sale in the USA – more fuel-efficient and innovative, safer, with a bolder and wider stance. This model marks 15 years on the U.S. market.
The new-generation 2022 Audi A3 has begun arriving at the brand’s dealerships across the United States of America. The car brings Audi’s latest flagship technologies including MMI touch display infotainment with a standard 10.1-inch screen, a sporty, driver-focused 12.3-inch virtual cockpit, a head-up display, a top-view camera system, and a host of other intuitive features.
Exterior tweaks include an RS-inspired honeycomb grille, quattro blisters at corners, Matrix LED headlamps.
A 2.0-liter TFSI engine comes standard providing up to 201 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque. A first for the model standard 48-volt mild-hybrid system enables increased fuel efficiency.
The entry-level 2022 Audi A3 with front-wheel drive features better fuel economy (32 mpg combined EPA-estimated) than the predecessor. The new A3 40 TFSI Quattro is almost one-quarter more efficient with its 31 mpg combined. The hot S3 variant is equipped with a more powerful TFSI engine that makes 306 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque.
The new A3’s safety and driver assistance pack includes, in particular, lane departure warning (standard now), Park Assist, Cruise Assist with lane guidance, Side Assist with rear cross-traffic assist.
The Audi A3 is an important model for the brand, as many innovative features debuted on it at one time: in-vehicle LTE Wi-Fi, a MIB infotainment platform, integrated social networking applications, a Picture Book Navigation.
Nowadays, Audi has six A models on sale in the USA – A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8. The aging A3 is the worst-selling of them: only 1,403 sales within 9 months of 2021, a decline by 79% compared to the same period of 2020.
We suppose the market entry of the next-gen Audi A3 should boost sales. The 2022 Audi A3 starts at $33,900 before charges, taxes, fees; the 2022 Audi S3’s starting price is $44,900.
