Hyundai Motors has introduced its new development – hydrogen-powered Hyundai NEXO SUV. The model is announced to go on sale late this year.
Production of the NEXO has brought the automaker closer to vehicles with zero emissions. Advanced environmentally friendly technologies help achieving it.
The new Hyundai EV has a driving range of 600 km. It accelerates to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 9.5 seconds. The output is 161 hp.
The NEXO’s hydrogen fuel cell engine generates electricity by mixing oxygen with compressed hydrogen to create a flow of electrons.It is intelligent, efficient and emits only pure, clean water.
The Hyundai NEXO has got a number of advanced driver assist systems, including Remote Parking Control.
In addition, the refueling time of the SUV is just 5 minutes. There are three tanks put in the rear for storing hydrogen.
When building the model, Hyundai designers used a number of sustainable materials, such as sugar cane, bamboo, bioplastics, soybean oils (used for polyurethane paint), ets.
The estimated cost of the newcomer is from $79,000.
