For the new, 2023 model year, the Toyota Tacoma has received the Chrome Package and the SX Package.
Two new packages for the 2023 Toyota Tacoma V6-powered SR5 models are offered now. The SX Package is available in Access Cab or Double Cab 4×2 and 4×4 trucks. It features black details: overfenders, 16-inch wheels, badging, outer mirrors, lug nuts, plus a unique bed graphic, Toyota says.
The Chrome Package comes for the Double Cab variant with a 5-foot bed in either 4×2 or 4×4. It includes chrome-finished elements, such as 18-inch alloy wheels, outer door handles, exhaust tips, and a tailgate insert. In the cabin, the package features a leather-wrapped shift knob.
In total, the 2023 Toyota Tacoma offers 6 trim levels (SR, SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, Limited, TRD Pro), Nightshade Edition and Trail Edition, as well as 34 configurations based on 2 cab types.
Powertrain choices include a standard 2.7-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine with VVT-i that produces 159 hp and 180 lb-ft of peak torque, and a 3.5-liter V6 employing Toyota’s VVT-iW technology and Atkinson-cycle combustion. The latter delivers 278 hp and 265 lb-ft.

Both engines are mated to a 6-speed electronically-controlled automatic transmission with intelligence (ECT-i). The V6 can also operate in pair with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The Toyota Tacoma is one of the most popular Toyota models and the most popular pickup truck of the brand in the USA. 71,024 units were sold in four months of this year (by 22% less than a year earlier). In Canada, 4,337 Tacomas were sold in 2022 vs 4,359 units from January to April 2021.
