The Japanese automaker has introduced an all-new 2023 Toyota Sequoia three-row SUV.
The 2023 Toyota Sequoia made its official debut yesterday. The new, third-generation model brings luxurious comfort, up-to-date technology, and a new efficient hybrid powertrain – the one first unveiled on the new Tundra. The Sequoia has the same modern body-on-frame chassis as the new global Land Cruiser, Lexus LX, and Tundra.
The powerful hybrid i-FORCE MAX powertrain with a unique motor-generator and a twin-turbo V6 produces 437 hp and 583 pound-feet of torque. It pairs Toyota’s 10-speed automatic transmission. The fuel economy is expected to be extremely competitive.
Toyota will offer the new Sequoia with a two-wheel-drive system or a part-time four-wheel-drive one on SR5, Limited, Platinum trim levels, and an all-new Capstone variant. A TRD Pro version will be also available, only with 4WD. The SR5 and Limited trims can be complemented with a TRD Off-Road package, first for the Sequoia.
The new SUV’s maximum towing capacity reaches 9,000 pounds: 22 percent more than before. The carmaker offers the Tow Tech Package for all trim levels, including such features as Trailer Backup Guide and Straight Path Assist.
The vehicle adopts a new rack-mounted electronic power steering system to improve the steering feel. Load-Leveling Rear Height Control Air Suspension and Adaptive are available. Also, the Drive Mode Select is an all-new feature on the Sequoia.
The three-row SUV offers a range of configurations for seating and cargo. The base equipment includes Toyota Safety Sense 2.5, a moonroof, heated seats, a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, a Panoramic View Monitor. A 14-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia display, a hands-free liftgate, power third row, Softex seats, 120-volt power outlets are optional.
Wheel choices include 18-inch alloy wheels, matte black 20-inch ones for TRD Pro, exclusive 22-inch chrome wheels for Capstone.
Toyota will build the new-gen Sequoia at the facility in San Antonio, Texas. The model should be available to customers in the summer of 2022.
