The 2023 Toyota GR Supra MT has begun arriving at U.S. dealers. It costs from $52,500 (MSRP).
The carmaker added a pleasant feature that customers should appreciate in the 2023 Toyota GR Supra – a new 6-speed Intelligent Manual Transmission available for 3.0, 3.0 Premium, and a limited-run A91-MT Edition models.
At the same time, Toyota continues to offer the Supra 2.0 version with an automatic transmission.
Besides, there are two exclusive exterior colors for the Supra A91-MT: CU Later Gray and Burnout complimented with a unique hazelnut-leather interior trim.
Standard Supra paints and a new Stratosphere Blue are also on the list of colors for the 2023 model.
Other tweaks include newly-tuned steering and suspension with a new Hairpin+ function, optimized traction/steering/engine torque control, and a premium JBL Audio system with 12 speakers.
The Hairpin+ feature helps facilitate taking tight bends on uphill gradients over 5% with a high-friction road surface.
Our Take on the Model
If you’re seeking a nice luxury sports car, the GR Supra is for you. The model features punchy turbocharged acceleration, balanced ride and handling, an easy-to-use infotainment system, an array of safety features, and good fuel economy. Its interior is handsome, it provides high-level comfort for two and adequate cargo space.
In order not to overpraise the model, we still note the shortcomings, such as sizable blind spots and the absence of Android Auto.
Surely, the Toyota GR Supra is an excellent buy in its class, but there are other sports cars worth paying attention to, for example, the Chevrolet Corvette or the Porsche 718 Cayman.
Unlike the Supra, the Chevy car offers more potent powertrains. The Porsche model boasts sharper handling and a racier lineup of boxer engines, but the Toyota is much cheaper, it has more usable trunk space and more active safety features.
