2023 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid Debuts: More Potent and Efficient

The first-ever Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid has made its U.S. debut today.

The 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid crossover comes on the TNGA-C architecture with the fifth-generation Toyota Hybrid System maximizing the platform’s potential.

In conjunction with Electronic All-Wheel Drive, the system provides increased power of 194 hp and fuel economy of 37 mpg combined. The car needs 8.0 seconds for the 0-60 mph acceleration.

The Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid is available in LE and XLE trim levels, as well as new sport variants with distinctive eye-catching details on the basis of S, SE, and XSE trim.

Wheel options include 17 or 18-inch ones. The newest Toyota Multimedia System, Rear Seat Reminder, and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite of active safety systems are standard for the model.

Among available features, there are Automatic High Beams, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Road Sign Assist, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Hill Start Assist Control, and Lane Tracing Assist.

The interior has mostly the same features as the Corolla hatchback and sedan siblings. In higher trim levels, the Corolla Cross Hybrid offers a power moonroof, and a single- or dual-zone automatic climate control; all models feature standard heating and air conditioning vents for rear-seat passengers.

The seats are fabric or SofTex-trimmed. There is a number of two-tone color combinations for exterior and interior.

The manufacturer will build the new model for the U.S. market at the Mazda Toyota Manufacturing plant in Huntsville, Alabama.

If to say about the Toyota Corolla lineup on the whole, the vehicle rolls into the 2023 model year with four new hybrid versions, new all-wheel drive, a new 8-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia, and the latest safety tech (Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 System), as well as refreshed styling. The carmaker upgraded the Corolla’s hybrid system.

All gasoline variants now come with a 169-hp 2.0-liter Dynamic Force 4-cylinder engine that replaces a 139-hp 1.8-liter unit and offers much more dynamic performance.
