2024 Nissan Pathfinder Goes On Sale Unchanged But More Expensive

The automaker has announced U.S. pricing for the 2024 Nissan Pathfinder. It starts at $35,810 MSRP.

2024 is the third model year for the fifth-generation Nissan Pathfinder: the SUV was fully redesigned for 2022. For 2023, it received a rugged-looking Rock Creek edition. The 2024 model brings no updates over the predecessor except for the fact it becomes slightly more expensive.

The prices for the current-gen Pathfinder have increased with each new model year, while the SUV itself remains almost unchanged:

  • 2022 model: from $34,635 to $49,315 including a $1,225 destination and handling fee;
  • 2023 model: from $36,295 to $51,165 including a $1,295 destination and handling fee;
  • 2024 model: from $37,145 to $52,015 including a $1,335 destination and handling fee.

The trim levels for the 2024 Pathfinder are S, SV, SL, and the most expensive Platinum, each with either front- or all-wheel drive. There is also the AWD-only Rock Creek. The Pathfinder features up to 80.5 cu ft of cargo capacity and up to 6,000 pounds of towing capacity.

Highlights

  • A 3.5-liter 284-hp V6 engine with a 9-speed automatic transmission
  • Intelligent 4WD with 7-position Drive and Terrain Mode selector
  • NissanConnect multimedia with an 8- or 9-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto
  • 12.3-inch digital dashboard
  • 10.8-inch head-up display
  • Intelligent Around View Monitor
  • ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link

Our View of the Model

This is a good 3-row SUV abundantly loaded with the latest safety and tech features. The vehicle offers enjoyable driving, composed handling, generous seating space for up to 8 occupants, a sizable cargo area, a refined powertrain, a practical cabin design, and a stout towing – better than many rivals have.

The SUV is a nice family transport, but its road manners are too bland for off-road ventures. Moreover, the Pathfinder’s pricing across the lineup is generally higher than the competition’s.

Competition

The Kia Telluride is the better pick overall: it surpasses the Pathfinder in such areas as cabin quality, passenger and cargo space, the number of standard safety features, and engine power, but is slightly behind in towing and off-road abilities.

The Toyota Highlander is as good as the Pathfinder, and the choice of one or the other depends on personal preferences. They have comparable warranty coverage, cargo room, and interior quality. The Toyota’s V6 is slightly more fuel-efficient on the highway (29 vs 27 mpg), but the Nissan SUV offers more space for the 2 and 3-row passengers and easier access to the rear row, plus it is better in terms of towing (6,000 vs 5,000 lbs).

The Hyundai Palisade is a more luxurious family hauler and the Honda Pilot would be a better choice if you need to cart more cargo. The Mazda CX-9 offers a legitimately engaging driving experience, but its passenger and cargo areas are more modest compared with the Pathfinder.
