2023 Kia Soul Facelift Goes On Sale From Mid-Summer

Kia Soul 2023

The most easily identifiable model of the brand – Kia Soul – goes on sale from the middle to late summer 2022.

The Kia Soul crossover got a slight makeover for the 2023 model year, and today the U.S. pricing has been announced. It is from $21,085 to $25,385 across the lineup, including a destination and handling fee.

Should I Buy a Kia Soul?

The Kia Soul is a good subcompact crossover – not as athletic and agile as some competitors, like the Mazda CX-30 for example, whose sharp steering and deft handling make it more engaging to drive.

Nevertheless, the Soul has very good maneuverability around the city. Its engine is decent, and it offers a respectable list of standard tech features, including an easy-to-use infotainment system.

The cabin is comfortable and roomy enough. It offers lots of cargo space and adult-friendly seating. At the same time, there are some low-quality surfaces (hard plastic) that do not allow the model to compete with rivals with higher-end interiors, such as the Hyundai Kona. The Kona, by the way, is more expensive, but it gives additional standard safety tech.

The comparatively low price and lengthy warranty are among the strong points of the Kia Soul.

What Is New For 2023

On the exterior side, the manufacturer refreshed the front and rear facia, add new 17- and 18-inch alloy wheels, and new two-tone color schemes (Clear White + Fusion Black roof and Surf Blue + Fusion Black roof).

On the interior side, Kia added a 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation as standard for all trims except the base one, and ergonomically placed switchgear.

Besides, the company added option packages to enhance tech and convenience and simplified the range by discontinuing the X-Line and Turbo trim levels and leaving LX, S, GT-Line, and EX.

The 2023 Kia Soul has a single powertrain that comprises a 2.0-liter inline-four engine making 147 hp at 6,200 rpm and 132 pound-feet of torque at 4,500 rpm through the front-wheel drive, in pair with Kia’s intelligent variable transmission.
