New Model Year 2023 Ford Maverick Will Be Available to Order In August

The Blue Oval will begin accepting orders for the 2023 Ford Maverick presumably from August 16, 2022.

The automaker had to suspend taking orders for the 2022 Ford Maverick compact pickup last month due to inability, at least at this stage of production capacity, to meet unexpectedly high demand. Americans have accepted the nice-looking, efficient, convenient hybrid pickup with great enthusiasm: the Maverick has become the discovery of 2021.

Ford is going to resume production of the truck in fall 2022, but this will be already the next, 2023 model year vehicle. Even some dates are already known, while unofficially. CarBuzz reported that Ford would begin to accept orders on August 16, with the production process to restart on October 24, 2022. These dates are preliminary and may change.

Meantime, customers can try to look for a 2022 Ford Maverick at dealers, but they need to be prepared for markups given the pickup popularity.

The 2022 Maverick is priced between $19,995 and $25,490. Its advantages include a low base price, fuel-efficient powertrains, a stylish interior, SUV-like handling and ride. As for its weak points, we can mention a rather small bed (54.4 in/ 4.5 feet long) and a comparatively low towing capacity of 2,000 pounds (4,000 pounds with the towing package). For comparison: the Ford F-150 offers 5.5-foot and 8-foot bed lengths, and it is capable to tow max 13,000 lbs.

  1. AK Fish says:

The Ford Maverick is not expected to compete with the F-150 pickup or even the mid-size models. It’s a compact pickup and therefore has a smaller bed and overall size/capacity. You want more towing capacity, move up in size to the Chevy Colorado starting at 25K (2WD) to 29K (4WD) and 7,000 lb. towing capacity or more payload move up to the 1/2 ton models. Of course, these models are larger and don’t even get close to 42 mpg in the city like the Maverick.

    1. Of course, you are right. We do not claim that the Maverick and F-150 are competitors, it would be strange. Thanks for the interesting comment.
