The premiere of a high-performance off-road 2023 Ford Bronco Raptor has taken place in livestream on January 24, 2022, at 6:00 a.m. Eastern Time.
Today the Ford Bronco Raptor joins the F-150 and Ranger Raptors. The online debut is available on the Ford Motor YouTube channel.
The new model is powered by Ford’s 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 engine mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Its horsepower numbers are not yet specified, expect them to be around 400 hp and 415 pound-feet like in the Ford Explorer ST.
The 2023 Ford Bronco Raptor is wider (85.7 inches), has a 9.8-inch wider track; its approach, break-over, and departure angles increased by 3.5 to 4.5 degrees.
The vehicle shares a T6 Platform with the regular Bronco, but unlike the latter, the Raptor variant got axle and suspension upgrades for off-road performance, including adaptive Fox racing shocks, reinforcement of a steering rack, locking front and rear differentials, a disconnecting front anti-roll bar, Ford Performance control arms enabling significantly more wheel travel, upgraded transfer case.
The Raptor has a 13.1-inch ground clearance: 1.6 inches more than a Bronco Sasquatch. New Baja and Tow/Haul modes join the Bronco’s G.O.A.T. (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain) modes.
The exterior features massive fender flares and vents in the front fenders, huge, all-terrain 37-inch tires around beadlock-capable wheels, a “Ford” script front grille, amber headlamps and three marker lights, rigid LED fog lights, skid plates, unique taillights with a “Raptor” lettering on the backside.
The rear fenders come with replaceable front sections. A new, Ford Performance steel bumper has end caps and a big front bash plate with integrated tow hooks.
In the cabin, there is rubberized flooring, specific vinyl seats that feature additional bolstering and a helmet. Ford also made some structural improvements to increase torsional rigidity by 50%.
A 12.0-inch center touchscreen and an exterior camera system come standard. The Lux Package with a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system and adaptive cruise control is an option.
The Ford Bronco Raptor’s starting price is $69,995 including a destination charge. Order books will open in March, while customer deliveries should begin in summer 2022. The current reservation holders of the Ford Bronco are allowed to update their order to the Raptor version if they want.
