The new Volkswagen Golf R Estate (wagon) brings four “MORE”: power, driving dynamics, space, emotions.
It has many R-specific features in the interior, exterior, under the bonnet.
They include an optional R Performance Package, Digital Cockpit Pro, and a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The package offers 19-inch wheels and two additional driving modes – Special for the Nürburgring track and Drift for power slides.
The power output of the Golf R’s 2.0 TSI engine increased from 300 to 315 hp (235 kW), and from 400 to 420 Nm (310 lb-ft) of torque.
4MOTION all-wheel drive with R Performance Torque Vectoring and a high-performance brake system provide outstanding agility.
The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes 4.9 seconds. A top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph). With the R Performance Package, the top speed achieves 270 km/h (168 mph).
The Golf R Estate is equipped with the latest MIB3 Infotainment system. The new model is safer than the predecessor due to a comprehensive suite of safety driver assistance systems.
The luggage compartment is 1,642 litres (58 cubic feet). The vehicle can tow up to 1,900 kg (4,189 pounds).
Presales will begin on July 8, 2021, in Germany and other European countries. The German starting price is 51,585 EUR including VAT.
