Toyota continues stirring up our interest in the upcoming 2022 Tundra. This time, the automaker has released a new teaser.
The teaser shows an iForce MAX designation– a new powertrain that is “ready to power the all-new Tundra”. The company has already used some version of the “iForce” moniker for the 4.7-liter V8 powering the 1st-gen model, and later for the 5.7-liter DOHC V8 when Toyota introduced it.
The information about the next-generation Toyota Tundra pickup truck is still scarce. However, some rumors suggested that a new engine with 6 cylinders, turbocharged and electrified, would replace the Tundra’s 5.7-liter V8 engine.
Will it be the same engine that powers the new Toyota Land Cruiser? We mean a gasoline twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 making 409 horsepower hp and 479 lb.-ft.of torque. Why not, it is possible. The models share their architecture, so they can also share the engines. Hope the automaker makes more hints closer to the reveal date.
