2022 Nissan Leaf Goes on Sale: Cheaper, Offers More Standard Features

Nissan announces U.S. pricing for the 2022 Leaf. With a starting price of $27,400, the electric car has become more affordable.

Two versions – Leaf and Leaf Plus, three trim levels – S, SV, SL are available. The Nissan Leaf comes with a 40-kWh battery and provides up to 149 miles of range. This battery pairs a 110-kW (147 hp) 236 lb-ft electric motor.

The extended-range Leaf Plus has a 62 kWh battery pack and a 160-kW motor that delivers 214 hp and 20 lb-ft of torque. The vehicle covers up to 226 miles in the S Plus variant and up to 215 miles when it comes to the SV Plus and SL Plus versions.

A CHAdeMO Quick Charge Port and a portable 240-volt charging cable are now standard. Eight features, optional before, become standard for the 2022 model. They include an Intelligent Around View Monitor ProPILOT Assist.

2022 Pricing (net, without tax, fees, charges):

  • S $27,400
  • SV $28,800
  • S PLUS $32,400
  • SV PLUS $35,400
  • SL PLUS $37,400

A Destination and Handling charge is $975. The potential federal tax credit is up to $7,500

For all 2022 Leafs, Nissan offers a limited battery warranty that covers defects in materials or workmanship for 8 years or 100,000 miles. There is also a limited warranty against battery capacity loss below 9 bars as shown on the car’s battery capacity level gauge for the first 8 years or 100,000 miles.
