The jurors picked out the winners after 3 rounds of voting based on plenty of hours of test drives, evaluation, and research. They selected from the initial list of 36 vehicles gradually narrowed down to 23 semifinalists, then to 9 finalists, and finally to 3 winners.

When voting for category winners, jurors took into consideration such criteria as value, handling, design, segment leadership, innovation, safety, driver satisfaction. So, the following new models got the 2022 NACTOY’s awards:

  • North American Car of the Year: Honda Civic
