2022 Lincoln Navigator: What Do We Know Today?

Despite the fact the flagship of Ford Motor Co’s premium brand will get restyled only, the interest in the 2022 Lincoln Navigator is high in the USA.

Since the automaker has promised to officially unveil the new product “soon”, now is a good time to summarize expectations a little.

A pre-production prototype of the refreshed 2022 Lincoln Navigator hit spy cameras in early summer. Judging by Ford Authority’s spy shots, exterior changes will be minor. Camouflage hides the entire front and lowers the back. Expect a slight facelifting to accord with Lincoln’s modern styling.

The latest official video clearly shows an updated grille and reimagined headlights. LED strips of daytime running lights give a special touch of luxury, although let’s remember that it is a video teaser.

As for the interior, the same spy photos show a large multimedia screen – noticeably larger than the current display. In addition, as Ford Authority reported, the Navigator will be available with a new Ford BlueCruise driver assistance tech.

The powertrain changes still remain unclear. The existing V6 EcoBoost isn’t going anywhere, but  Ford’s 420-hp PowerBoost hybrid system is possible as well. On the other hand, the Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring has a plug-in hybrid version. Why can’t it be in the next Lincoln Navigator?

Finally, the date of the premiere is also uncertain. Of course, the “debut soon” as the promise in the recent video isn’t a firm timeline. At the same time, this is much more precise than the “premiere in the 2nd half of 2021”, as earlier announced.
