2022 Honda Civic Si Teased: Highlights a Ginormous Wing

2022 Honda Civic Si teaser

Honda has released a new teaser video showing how the 2022 Honda Civic Si is being developed for on-track competition.

The automaker promises to reveal the production eleventh-generation 2022 Honda Civic Si soon – maybe even this month. Meantime, Honda engineers have been testing the model around Californian Thunderhill Raceway – a place, where the Civic Si will compete in the 25 Hours of Thunderhill on December 3-5, 2021.

The latest teaser shows those tests ahead of the upcoming premiere. Honda says the 2022 Civic Si is “the best-handling and most fun-to-drive Civic Si ever.” Well, the good news is that the new generation of Honda’s most popular model (apart from the Honda CR-V) shall get a sporty version – the Civic Si, as well as a hard-core S Type.

The Honda Civic Si in the video is wrapped in camouflage which masks some details. But air vents in the hood, a large front splitter and a striking rear wing that towers at the rear are quite visible. Let’s not forget that this is a racing version, and the production model will most likely differ and come without that aerodynamic aid.

The 2022 Honda Civic Si should arrive with a more powerful turbo-four engine and a sport-tuned suspension. Expect a manual gearbox to be available for this Civic. The cabin is not seen now, but it should be sporty – with sports seats, trim, and accents.

We’d like to recall that the 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback already hit US dealerships last month starting at $23,915. It is the second in the new-generation Civic series and the first assembled in the United States.
