Genesis has released several photos of its potential top-seller – the 2022 GV70 compact crossover.
Expect its global market launch in the first half of next year.
The photos reveal the crossover’s exterior and interior. We hope the official debut will follow, and we’ll know more about the brand’s second, after the GV80, SUV model.
When the GV70 arrives, it will meet strong rivals on the market, such as the BMW X3, Audi Q5, Mercedes-Benz GLC. So, the Japanese carmaker has to try enough to catch buyers, particularly, in terms of pricing.
The Genesis GV70 five-seater looks fine due to its athletic proportions (‘Athletic Elegance’ philosophy), elegancy (‘Parabolic Line’), a striking coupe-like roofline, the brand’s Crest Grille. The Quad Lamp lighting is similar to that of the G80, GV80, G70.
The Genesis GV70 uses the same platform as the sibling G70 sedan. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is optional.
The GV70’s minimalist interior features an oval-themed dash, a two-spoke steering wheel, a huge, company’s latest widescreen infotainment controlled by a rotary knob on the center console.
The photos show a standard GV70 (in silver, brown), as well as a Sport variant (in red). The later comes with 21-inch wheels, blacked-out details, specific oval exhaust tips, sporty interior trim, a three-spoke steering wheel.
Under the hood, expect a 2.5-liter inline turbo-four engine with around 300 hp as standard, and a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 with about 375 hp on the GV70 Sport.
Genesis will announce the specifications and pricing closer to the on-sale date.
