The 2022 Ford F-Series Super Duty (or shortly Ford Super Duty) goes on sale this summer. An important piece of news is that two of its trim levels will be available with standard four-wheel-drive.
It is about King Ranch and Platinum grades. Currently they come with two-wheel-drive as standard, while the next model year brings 4×4 capability.
In addition, several other updates will happen for the 2022 model including a new 12-inch infotainment screen supporting Apple CarPlay/Android Auto/SYNC AppLink apps that is similar to the 2021 Ford F-150’s.
The screen is offered for Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Limited trim levels. The 2022 Ford Super Duty XL series get a 4.2-inch display. XTL models come with a standard 8-inch touchscreen.
Besides, Ford adds new colors – exterior Atlas Blue and interior Baja, Navy Pier, Light Slate, and packages – Black Appearance Package on XTL, Sport Appearance Package on Lariat.
Production of the 2022 Ford F-Series Super Duty should begin next month – on July 8 and July 22 at Ford’s Kentucky and Ohio facilities, respectively, if there will be no supply chain issues.
Sales of the F-Series dropped last month by 36 percent compared to May 2020, but YTD sales numbers of 316,359 units in 2021 are 8.55 percent more than a year ago (291,440 units). The Ford F-Series trucks continue being No.1 by sales in America.
