The manufacturer has confirmed it will add a popular ZR2 version to its best-selling Chevrolet Silverado.
The company re-launched this off-road variant in 2017 on the Chevy Colorado and now adds it to the 2022 Silverado.
Chevrolet’s recent teaser video let us see the ZR2’s wheels and bottom in a muddy field, and hear how an engine is rumbling.
The 2022 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 will be available this fall. It brings the latest Multimatic DSSV dampers providing maximal control at low and high-speed events. Also, the ZR2 features superior approach and departure angles, front and rear locking differentials, bigger off-road tires.
General Motors has no plans to use any of its supercharged V8 engines for the Silverado ZR2. Nevertheless, this version is expected to be more off-road capable than most specifications for the Ram 1500 Rebel and the Ford F-150 Tremor.
The Chevrolet Silverado itself is set to receive significant updates for the 2022 model year. Its exterior will look closer to the latest Tahoe and Suburban. The cabin will get soft-touch materials, a larger infotainment touchscreen.
