2022 Acura RDX Reaches U.S. Dealers in Early November

The Acura RDX has been restyled for the 2022 model year and goes on sale in the USA in November.

The 2022 Acura RDX boasts the new, dynamic, MDX-inspired exterior design, extensive refinement updates, and new tech features.

A Qi-compatible wireless smartphone charging is now available. The IconicDrive LED ambient lighting that offers 27 unique colors comes as part of the Technology Package. The list of standard features adds Wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa Built-In.

Moreover, for the 2022 RDX, Acura updates the Integrated Dynamics System to deliver a more distinct driving feel between four driving modes, enhances the Active Sound Control system, increases cabin quietness, and reduced road noise.

The vehicle’s Adaptive Damper System is re-tuned to provide more response and more driving comfort. Also, the manufacturer enhances the AcuraWatch suite of safety and driver-assist features with Acura-first Lane Change Assist, Front and Rear Low-Speed Braking Control, Rear Seatbelt Reminder.

The automaker expands the color palette by adding Phantom Violet Pearl, Liquid Carbon Metallic, Long Beach Blue Pearl colors. They are only available on the limited-run PMC Edition.

And finally, the sporty Acura RDX A-Spec variant receives a flat-bottom sport steering wheel. Either the Technology Package or the Advance Package is available for this grade. The latter is most demanded by buyers under 45 years old, by the way. The range-topping Advance Package models first gain power-folding side mirrors.

A base 2.0-liter VTEC 4-cylinder 272-hp turbo engine powers the Acura RDX. The unit pairs with a responsive 10-speed automatic transmission with standard sequential SportShift paddle shifters. Acura’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive is standard, while front-wheel drive is available for selected models.

Acura builds the 2022 RDX in East Liberty, Ohio, USA. The company will announce pricing closer to the on-sale date.

We’d like to add that this year the U.S. debut of the all-new Acura MDX Type S is expected. Also, the revived Acura Integra will go on sale in 2022.
