The 2021 Volkswagen Golf R is testing its capabilities on snowy roads. It could not escape car paparazzi’s attention and Voila! New shots appear…
The next Volkswagen Golf R undergoes road tests. The test car bears no camouflage. The exterior distinctions are quite viewable.
Compared with the standard 2020 VW Golf, the hot R version has a different grille, sportier wheels, a larger front bumper, quad exhaust tips, beefier brakes.
A 2.0-liter inline-four turbo engine in the Golf R produces up to 330 hp. The unit is mated with a 7-speed DSG gearbox and Volkswagen’s familiar 4MOTION four-wheel drive.
Before to launch the hotter R variant, the automaker will first unveil a GTI modification with a less powerful 250-hp engine. It will happen next month at Geneva.
The Golf R should enter the market in a few months after the Golf GTI – in late 2020 or early 2021. Its premiere will take place in mid-summer this year at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in Great Britain.
