2021 Nissan Altima Attained One More Benefit

Nissan’s best-selling sedan has entered the TOP list of Best Cars for Teens. This car is one of eight winners selected by U.S. News and World Report. It won in the $30,000 to $35,000 category.

A nice premium for the already successful model, isn’t it? The rating compilers estimated the vehicles’ active safety features which help teens safely develop their driving skills and lower the risk of an accident.

Other criteria for assessment were predicted reliability ratings, top critics’ recommendations, crash test scores. At the same time, sports and small cars, trucks, large SUVs, and vehicles with high seating capacity and too much horsepower were avoided as unsafe for teen drivers.

Apart from the Nissan Altima, the Best Cars for Teens list includes such 2021 models as the Hyundai Elantra Hybrid, Hyundai Kona, Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid, GMC Terrain, Kia Sorento Hybrid, Toyota Camry Hybrid, Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid. Well done, Hyundai, keep it up!

Well, let’s return to the Altima and why it is among the bests.

The current 2021 model offers a decent suite of modern safety and assistance technologies – Nissan Safety Shield 360 and ProPILOT Assist.

Moreover, the car boasts of such advanced features as Intelligent All-Wheel Drive with automatic torque distribution in accordance with road and driving conditions, Intelligent Around View Monitor, Intelligent Driver Alertness, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning.

According to the current data on the company’s website, the 2021 Nissan Altima costs between $24,450 and $34,250 excluding tax, title, license, options. The S, SV, SR, SR VC-Turbo, SL, Platinum trim levels, front-  or all-wheel drive, two powertrain choices are available.

According to Google Trend, a version of increased interest is the Altima SR priced at $26,350 FWD and $27,750 AWD. This version offers an electronic parking brake, Active Brake Limited Slip, a dark chrome V-Motion grille, 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, body-color door handles, a sport-tuned suspension, paddle shifters with manual shift mode.

By sales in the USA in the second quarter of this year, the Nissan Altima is the third Nissan model of 16 after the Rogue that is an indisputable leader, and the Sentra. In Q2, 2021, Nissan sold 29,912 Altimas and 61,928 units in the first half of the year.  

In Canada, Nissan has 18 models on sale, and the Altima sedan is not among the leaders: only 415 units were sold in Q2. The best-selling Nissans in the country in the mentioned period were the Rogue (8,245 units), Kicks (5,206 units), Qashqai (3,400 units).
