2021 Mazda MX-5 Miata Goes On Sale: Starts At $27,775, New Colors Added

The roadster updated for the 2021 model year is arriving at U.S. retailers in December. A slight base price increase (+$250) occurred compared with the 2020 model.

New wireless Apple CarPlay is now available. Android Auto is also standard for 2021. Deep Crystal Blue and White Nappa leather are new color options.

The Miata offers a nice power-to-weight ratio. Thank to several lightweight components, the car weighs under 2,500 pounds.

A Skyactiv-G 2.0-liter engine is the base one for the model. It delivers 181 hp at 7,000 rpm, 151 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm, and works in combination with either a 6-speed manual (Skyactiv-MT) or a 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

16- o 17-inch Metallic Black aluminum alloy wheels, silver dual exhaust outlets, LED head- and tail lights, optional LED daytime running lights are the highlights of the new Mazda MX-5 Miata’s exterior.

Standard i-Activsense safety features include Lane Departure Warning System, Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Smart City Brake Support.

Manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) does not include $945 for destination and handling ($990 in Alaska), taxes, title or additional fees.

Available premium paint colors are Soul Red Crystal ($595), Machine Gray Metallic ($495) and Snowflake White Pearl Mica ($395).

The optional Brembo/BBS/Recaro Package costs $4,470 (Soft Top) or $4,670 (RF). It is available only for the Club 6-speed MT version.

A $300 White Nappa Leather option comes for the MX-5 Grand Touring; Gray Cloth Soft Top ($200) is offered for the MX-5 Grand Touring Soft Top only.
