2021 Honda Accord Gets Updates To Styling, Tech, Drivability

For the 2021 model year, the Honda Accord receives exterior tweaks, updated hybrid variant, a new trim, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.

The 2021 Honda Accord has been arriving at U.S. dealerships from October 13, starting at $24,770 (destination and handling not inclusive).

The car has a wider, more sophisticated grille, new LED high- and low-beam headlights, smaller openings for the fog lights, new alloy wheels, a new Sonic Gray Pearl color. Plus the company improved integration of the Honda Sensing system’s radar unit.

In the cabin, an 8-inch entertainment display comes standard now on all trims, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. USB ports are rearranged, higher trims now include dual 2.5-volt USB ports for rear seat passengers

All Accords also get a new Rear Seat Reminder, a new Low Speed Braking Control system is available for upper grades.

Accord Hybrid

The 2021 Honda Accord Hybrid benefits from upgrades to Honda’s advanced two-motor hybrid system: more direct and immediate throttle response, more natural acceleration feeling, more time operating solely on electric power, better fuel efficiency.

Total output reaches 212 hp and 232 lb-ft of peak torque – most power and torque in the class. The top fuel efficiency achieves 48 mpg. Honda also improves the hybrid’s braking performance.

Visually, the Accord Hybrid adds its own unique touches to the styling updates: a blue H-mark on the grille, Hybrid badges. The Hybrid Touring grade features sporty 19-inch wheels.

New Sport Grade

The Accord Sport SE grade is new for 2021. It replaces the Accord EX 1.5T. It adds leather seats, heated front seats, a four-way power passenger seat, a 12-way power driver’s seat, heated mirrors, Smart Entry.  

The Accord Sport 1.5T receives a remote engine start in addition to dual rear USB ports, leather-wrapped shift knob and steering wheel with paddle shifters, an 8-speaker audio system.

The  Sport and Sport SE trim levels feature a rear trunk lid spoiler, specific 19-inch wheel design, LED fog lights, dark-chrome grille and exhaust tips.
