Genesis is introducing the third-generation G80 mid-size luxury sedan.
The new-gen vehicle embodies the “Athletic Elegance” design language. In particular, the brand’s signature elements, which present its identity, are the Crest Grille and two lines of the Quadlamps first met in the GV80 and now used in the G80.
This flagship model sits between the G70 and G90 in Genesis lineup. Its resemblance to its GV80 SUV sibling strikes.
The vehicle combines the profile of a classic sedan in its modern interpretation with a coupe-like roofline and an ideal rear-wheel drive proportion. The sharp athletic lines of the fenders emphasize the powerful stance of the 20-inch wheels.
The new ‘Beauty of White Space’ theme is represented inside. The carmaker uses upscale materials – leather and wood for the cabin. The interior highlight is a large 14.5-inch infotainment screen.
Like in the GV80, under the hood of the new G80 there is a turbocharged 2.5-liter 290-hp inline-four as standard, with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. A 3.5-liter 6-cylinder turbo engine with 375 hp comes as option. The rear wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is optional.
The 2021 Genesis G80 will enter the market this year, after the launch of the GV80. The U.S. price will likely start under $50,000 and range up to $60,000.
