The next-generation Audi RS3 in near-production form has been spied when it was hitting the Nürburgring track.
The hot RS version is underway. The latest video reveals a prototype looking almost ready for production, with less disguise than we saw before.
The car features wider side sills and fenders, a revamped grille and a rear spoiler, a new rear bumper that incorporates Audi Sport’s oval exhaust tips, an air outlet behind the front wheel.
The next Audi RS3 will probably get a power increase of about 15 hp over the current model’s 394 horsepower generated by a 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbocharged engine.
The 2021 Audi RS3 will be faster. Now the car accelerates from zero to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds. Expect the new RS3’s cabin will be similar to that of the regular A3, except the RS-specific elements.
The current starting U.S. prices for the A3 lineup are as follows:
- 2020 A3 Sedan – $23,300;
- 2020 S3 Sedan – $43,000;
- 2020 RS3 Sedan – $56,200.
For the 2021 model year, Audi will continue its existing U.S. lineup of the A3, S3, RS3, and add the A3 Sportback E-Tron. The RS version should logically arrive after the S3, we hope it happens still this year.
